Dr. Mike Asbury, Chairman

Mike is the Chairman of Photopharmica and is responsible for the leadership of the Board of Directors. He has extensive knowledge of the industry having held numerous management positions in the pharmaceutical industry over the last 30 years, including International Marketing Director at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Vice-President of Global Licensing at AstraZeneca.

John Lyon, Chief Executive Officer

John is CEO of Photopharmica and responsible for the overall direction of the Company. He has a strong track record in growing commercial life science businesses with a specific focus on managing the drug development process. John was previously a Global Vice President at Covance where he was also Managing Director of their world renowned drug development clinic in Leeds. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Clinical Research and a qualified Clinical Biochemist, having trained at St George's Hospital and St Mary's Hospital in London.

Professor Stanley Brown, Chief Scientific Officer

Stan is Photopharmica’s Chief Scientific Officer with responsibility for scientific R&D and the clinical development of the Company’s lead products. Stan is a recognised international authority in PDT who has published very widely on the subject. Stan has also been the University of Leeds Chair of Biochemistry and Director of the University’s Centre of Photobiology and Photodynamic Therapy. He was Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Leeds 1993-96, President of the European Society for Photobiology 1999-2001 and a non-executive director of Yorkshire Regional Health Authority.

Professor David Holdcroft, Non-Executive Director

David was Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research at the University of Leeds between 1991 and 1996. He was a Director of University of Leeds Innovations, responsible for managing the University's spin offs, between 1991 and 1998 and has been a trustee of Yorkshire Cancer Research and Chairman of its Compliance Committee.

Alan Aubrey, Non-Executive Director

Alan was the joint founder and Chief Executive of Techtran Group Ltd, the first company in Europe to offer a complete outsourced technology transfer function to universities. Techtran was acquired by IP Group in 2005. Alan is also Non-Executive Chairman of Proactis, an AIM-listed software company based in York and a non-executive director of Energetix Group plc, an AIM-listed company based in Chester. From 1995-2002 Alan was a partner in KPMG where he specialised in providing advice to fast growing technology businesses. Alan holds a BA in Economics from the University of Leeds and a MBA with Distinction from the University of Bradford. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. Alan is also Chairman of the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) Audit and Risk Committee.
